Long lines, bad seats: Cricket fans hit out over ‘poor’ experience
Cricket fans have hit back after a woeful experience at Metricon Stadium last night to watch the T20 International between Australia and the West Indies.
Nine News reporter Mackenzie Colahan was there and said they were squashed in, into the “worst seats” into the Gold Coast stadium.
Fans were forced to line up for 11 overs to get a drink at the one bar open.
“It was [a debacle],” he told Neil Breen.
“To be fair, the crowd was embarrassing only about 4000 turned up … you’d think with that small a crowd, they’d have enough staff and be prepared to be able to accommodate the bar.”
He said there was one bar and two food stalls open, and the bar line was an hour long.
Worst game day experience at a live sporting event bar none for the cricket tonight @MetriconStadium. Most of the stadium is closed. One bar and two food stalls for the entire crowd. The line for a beer is an hour long. What a farce.#AusVsWI pic.twitter.com/31hSyxsfxO
