Man accused of fatal farm shooting to face court today
The man accused of shooting three neighbours dead and wounding a fourth on a cattle property in rural Queensland is due to front court today.
Detectives allege 59-year-old Darryl ‘Blinky’ Young from Bogie murdered Mervyn Schwarz, Maree Schwarz and her son Graham Tighe last Thursday.
It’s reported Mr Young had previously had his gun licence revoked by police, before having it reinstated on appeal.
He will be taken to Proserpine Magistrates Court for his first appearance on three murder charges, plus a single charge of attempted murder.
Ross Tighe, who was wounded in the same shooting that killed his family, has been “up an about” at Mackay Base Hospital after undergoing extensive surgery for a single gunshot wound.
