A man is in a critical condition and a woman has been arrested after a house fire in Brisbane’s north.

Emergency services were called to the Grange address at around 5.20am when a passer-by first raised the alarm.

Neighbours were reportedly woken by screams coming from the house.

Police discovered a curtain on fire and a man with what appeared to be stab wounds.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with critical injuries.

A crime scene has been established and a woman, believed to be known to the man, is in police custody and helping officers with inquiries.
