Mandatory COVID-19 vaccines ruled out for state’s firies
Queensland firefighters won’t need to get a COVID-19 jab to continue working.
The Palaszczuk government has enforced vaccine mandates for other state emergency services but no decision had been made for firefighters.
Senior Nine News reporter Tim Arvier told Neil Breen there had been fierce debate within the ranks.
“QFES has been in between a rock and a hard place, they’ve ultimately decided to go down the path of not having a vaccine mandate.
“That’s big because in every other jurisdiction, the government has forced the issue.”
