Marcia Hines is returning to the stage in a national Velvet Rewired tour, in what’s been dubbed a love letter to disco.

The tour kicks off at the Wynnum Fringe Festival.

“Most importantly I got to say, after what we have all experienced in the last couple of years, let’s look for some joy,” she told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons.

Asked about the Australian Idol reboot and whether she would have returned as a judge, Hines joked she’d never turn down a gig.

The show is making a comeback after more than a decade.

“Given the chance, I would be a part of it, if it had integrity that only Australian Idol had.”

She said it was a ride, one of Australia’s first forays into reality TV.
