Masks off: Queensland reaches 80 per cent single dose target
Queensland has hit a major vaccine milestone, meaning masks will no longer be required inside, although it is still encouraged.
Over 80 per cent of the eligible population has had their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine..
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said yesterday that masks are no longer necessary inside the minute the state hits that target.
It means no masks indoors including schools, cafes, pubs, clubs, hairdressers and workplaces.
It also puts the state in good stead ahead of the border reopening on December 17.
It’s still compulsory to wear a mask on a plane and at the airport, and it is advised in ride-share vehicles, and in situations where you can’t social distance.
