Medical millionaire hits out at QLD Government’s ‘disgusting’ Lady Cilento campaign
Medical millionaire Marcus Blackmore has thrown his support behind the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, labelling the Queensland Government’s actions as “disgusting”.
The vitamin king and his wife Caroline made their fortune made their fortune founding the Blackmore’s health supplements company.
They’ve since become philanthropists, championing worthy causes, including a recent $10-million donation to Southern Cross University.
The 73-year-old is now taking up the fight against changing the name of the Lady Cilento Hospital.
The Queensland Government is under fire for using a rigged online survey to justify the name change, just one part of a dirty smear campaign.
Marcus Blackmore tells Alan Jones their actions are reprehensible.
“There’s something similar going on here.
“[Health] Minister [Steven] Miles and his office have basically concocted a dodgy survey result for political gain.
“At the same time, they’re denigrating an amazing Australian woman… it’s disgusting!”
