The final five appointments for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games organising committee has been revealed.

Former CEO and chairman of The Dow Chemical Company Andrew Liveris has been appointed president.

Others named yesterday were reconciliation advocate Shelley Reys, events expert Sarah Kelly, former Olympian Rob Scott and businessman Brett Clark.

The full 16 board committee will meet for the first time later this month.

Mr Liveris told Spencer Howson it’s “amazing” a country of Australia’s size has earned the right to host three Olympics in less than a century.

“So many things … in so many different parts of life right now, you can showcase with an Olympic Games,” he said.

“The ‘best Games ever’ is a cliché that we should be aspirational [for] and of course, put in the perspiration to put that to work.”
