Racing Minister Grace Grace has welcomed the news Albion Park Harness Racing Club CEO Scott Steele has been stood down.

Mr Steele has been been committed to stand trial on two charges of sexual assault and one charge of rape.

Mr Steele denies the allegations.

Racing Minister Grace Grace welcomed the decision, but said it should have happened sooner.

“I welcome the news that the Albion Park Harnessing Racing Club has finally agreed to follow the direction issued by Racing Queensland, back in September last year,” she told Peter Fegan filling on Brisbane Live.
