‘Monumentally deceptive’: Senator rips into PwC over tax scandal
Millions of dollars in annual tax revenue could have been lost, according to the Australian Tax Office, if PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) had managed to successfully roll out a tax-avoidance scheme designed using confidential government briefings.
The scandal saw PwC Australia boss Tom Seymour step down amid revelations he and hundreds of staff and partners were included on emails detailing the plan.
Senator Deborah O’Neill joined John Stanley to explain the incident, expressing how unimpressed she was with the consultancy.
