Three ferry terminals will reopen to passengers this week after the February floods left them out of action for months.

The Sydney Street, Holman Street and QUT Gardens Point terminals will be operating again from first service on Thursday, Councillor Ryan Murphy has confirmed.

“For some of the ones that were particularly badly hit, … we’ve had to remove the gangways, take them off, re-engineer them,” he told Laurel, Gary & Mark.

“They suffered hundreds of tonnes of structural loading on the terminals and that’s caused significant damage that’s taken some time to repair.

“We’ll have 90 per cent of the terminals up and running before Christmas, which is good news!”

Press PLAY below to hear why we’ll be waiting until next year to have all terminals re-opened
