Moses Mbye admits speculation about Anthony Griffin’s future isn’t ideal
St George Illawarra utility Moses Mbye has admitted the recent speculation about the future of coach Anthony Griffin isn’t ideal.
It comes after reports emerged earlier this week Griffin would have to reapply for his job to stay on beyond this year.
Mbye told The Continuous Call Team the timing of the reports ahead of the local derby on Sunday are an unwelcome distraction.
“It certainly doesn’t do us any favours,” Mbye said.
“It’s been happening for years, we don’t know where it’s come from.
“It’s not ideal especially the timing of it, like you said it’s a really good build up to a quality game, it’s a local derby for us.”
The Dragons who’ve started the season with a win and a loss after the bye in Round one, face the Sharks at Kogarah in the local derby on Sunday.
