Motorists affected as Story Bridge closes for repairs
Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge will be closed this weekend as vital waterproofing repairs are carried out.
Thousands of motorists will be affected by the closure, with the bridge shut from Main Street to Bowen Terrace from 9pm Friday until 5am Monday.
The bridge will be open to cyclists and pedestrians but motorists will have to find an alternate route.
The decision to shut Story Bridge for repairs was reached when water damage was discovered in concrete slabs and beams.
During the closure, no tolls will apply to the Clem 7 tunnel.
