MPs confident rogue states will backflip as Victoria ‘mugged by reality’
MPs from both sides of the political aisle have defended Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s national cabinet, amid concerns some state leaders have turned their backs on the national agreement.
Energy Minister Angus Taylor told Deborah Knight he has “no doubt” rogue states WA and Queensland will come on board with the national vaccination plan to end lockdowns and border closures eventually.
“We’ve seen Dan Andrews make a really significant 180 degree turn on all of this this week – you do get mugged by reality.”
Labor MP for Hunter Joel Fitzgibbon agreed that “common sense [will] prevail”.
“We’re fighting about something that hasn’t happened yet.”
