Neil Breen slams state ‘hypocrisy’ over public hospital spend
Neil Breen has accused the Premier of hypocrisy when it comes to funding the over-stretched public hospital system in Queensland.
He said the Premier had been pushing for a 50-50 split with the Commonwealth on public hospital costs, which has been rejected by Anthony Albanese.
Instead, a 45-55 deal has been reached.
“Annastacia Palaszczuk has changed her tune,” Neil said.
“Remember she used to fight endlessly with Scott Morrison over health funding.
“Now even though the new Labor government is not upping the funding in the long-term, the Queensland premier is saying Queenslanders are getting a fair deal from the federal government.”

President of the Australian Medical Association of Queensland said it appeared the Premier had “changed her tune”.
“It’s always been AMA’s position that we do need a 50-50 split and it may well be we might need to wait to the national health reform agreement in 2025, but we would hope that our Premier, whoever it is at that time, fights for us to get that 50-50 split.”
