Neil Breen has called on Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk to answer whether the Queensland Labor party will hand back donations from the CFMEU after workers reportedly stormed a government building last week.

The Premier condemned the behaviour of some at the rally, but refused to say if the Labor party would hand back donations, saying the incident was being investigated by police.

The building was locked down for three hours during the protest.

But in a statement, police confirmed no formal complaints had been made and no criminal matters were being investigated.

“The question is back to you Premier, in light of the QPS now confirming to Brisbane Live this afternoon, after we pursued this, and asked for a timeline from the police, the police come back and go, ‘there’s no investigation, it’s a review’,” Neil said.

“So, Premier, are you going to accept donations from CFMEU, in light of what you said last Thursday?

“Because there’s no investigation, you don’t have to wait for the outcome of the police investigation.”

Statement from Queensland Police

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) can confirm no complaints have been made and there are
no criminal matters being investigated.

The review of this incident involves the QPS examining footage from multiple sources to determine
if any public order offences have been committed, and working with stakeholders and partner
agencies, to evaluate building security protocols and practices.
