A self-managed super fund consultant is launching a new political party for the voices of older Australians fed up with Labor and Coalition policies.

I Love SMSF chief executive Grant Abbott is throwing his hat in the ring with The SMSF Party, aimed at promoting the growth of SMSFs and protecting existing members.

He intends to influence policies at the executive and legislative branches of government.

“I can’t believe it. It’s absolutely disgraceful,” he tells Chris Smith.

But he says the blame doesn’t fall solely on Labor.

“The Liberals started this… they’re just attacking us every which way.”
