The new head of Tourism and Events Queensland has outlined her vision ahead of officially taking on the role next year.

Patricia O’Callaghan says the Sunshine State has an incredible platform in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Games, with a “golden decade of opportunity” and all eyes on Queensland.

“I think for me, it’s just positioning the state to be the number one, we want to be the most visited state in Australia, not just domestically and internationally,” she told Spencer Howson, filling in on Brisbane Live.

“We would also need to be the state where people are spending the most.”
