Newly created Brisbane suburbs crying out for better facilities
A suburb in Brisbane’s south side is crying out for facilities, including better public transport and shopping amenities.
Pallara, nestled between Forest Lake, Acacia Ridge and Calamvale has Brisbane’s fastest population growth, according to the latest Census.
A bus route has been promised this year that will head north to Sunnybank train station, but there’s no direct route to Brisbane’s CBD.
Kush, who lives in Pallara, has petitioned both the local and state governments to create better connections in the community.
He said public transport was promised, but it hasn’t been delivered.
“The frustrating part is the fact these developments were approved … they were approved back in 2016-2017, when they worked with the council, the state government to encourage residents to move into these newly created suburbs,” he told Peter Fegan, filling in on 4BC Drive.
“They clearly advertised they will be these facilities, bus stations, transport network, local shops … saying it will be delivered in a reasonable time period.”
He said no one had taken accountability.
