Australia is without its top-ranked men’s tennis player after Nick Kyrgios announced he’s withdrawing from the Australian Open.

An MRI has revealed the 27-year-old has a cyst in his knee.

He will return to Canberra to undergo minor surgery.

Kyrgios says he’s devastated, but had no choice but to pull out as the pain is limiting his movement.

Peter Psaltis joined Bill McDonald to talk about the shock exit of Nick Kyrgios, and what this means for the tournament.
