Novak Djokovic’s father won’t attend semi-finals after flag controversy
Novak Djokovic’s father says he had no intention of causing disruption when he posed with fans holdingĀ pro-Russian flags at Melbourne Park.
Srdjan Djokovic has released a statement saying that he had “no intention of causing such headlines or disruption”.
He has decided not to attend tonight’s semi-final between his son and American player Tommy Paul at Melbourne Park.
3AW sports presenter Shane McInnes said it would have been a “complete distraction” for Djokovic if his father was there.
“It’s probably come a little bit later than it probably should have,” he told Neil Breen.
