NRL Head of Football Graham Annesley joined The Continuous Call Team where he shared his thoughts on the recent hip-drop tackle controversies.

Daryll Brohman believes the tackles have been around forever but questioned why the game has been only cracking down on it since this year.

Annesley told the team that while he also believes hip-drop tackles have been around forever, the constant awareness of the changes that come to the game every year is important.

“I think it’s just a part of the evolution of the game,” Annesley said

“the game evolves and different trends appear and players will need to get used to it”
