NRL judiciary slammed over ‘ridiculous’ suspension of Sam Verrills
The decision by the NRL judiciary to suspend Roosters player Sam Verrills for two weeks for a high tackle on Titans player Brian Kelly has been slammed as “ridiculous”.
Wide World of Sports host Peter Psaltis said he was left “shocked” by the NRL judiciary’s decision.
“The decision is a joke.”
He said Verrills was very, very unlucky.
Rugby league immortal and commentator Andrew Johns agreed.
“Mate, it is just ridiculous.”
He said it was a contact sport and accidents would happen.
“Once again you look at anything in super slow motion, it doesn’t tell the story. You look at it in fast motion, you see the full story.”
Johns predicted there was no chance the Roosters could win this week, although they’d “compete hard” against Manly.
