Operation Ironside: Home Affairs Minister ‘without a doubt’ more arrests to come

Federal police will make “an increasing number of arrests” in the coming months following Operation Ironside.

In June this year, a massive crime bust saw 4000 officers storm the homes of Australian criminals and make more than 300 arrests in a single night.

Operation Ironside was the largest blow ever to organised crime in the Southern Hemisphere.

Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews says there’s still more arrests to come from the operation, months on from the original sting.

“What we will see is an increasing number of arrests that are linked to the work that was done under that particular operation,” she told Neil Breen.

“We have seen a number of arrests just recently here on the Gold Coast.

“There’s more to come, without a doubt.”
