Opposition Leader seeing red, calls open line over ‘double standard’ exemption for unions
A furious Opposition Leader called the open line this morning after hearing a story on the state government’s “next level of hypocrisy”.
The Courier Mail reports unvaccinated union officials will still be allowed entry to Queensland hospitals despite strict visitor caps.
Since December 17, all visitors to must be fully vaccinated to gain entry.
But unions have reportedly been given permission to bypass the rules and send unvaccinated delegates into the state’s hospitals.
David Crisafulli told Neil Breen it was a difficult exception to swallow.
“The time when they were waving footballers’ wives in while they were locking Queenslanders out, I thought that was the next level of hypocrisy but this one goes pretty close,” he said.
“After all the heartache, all the pain people have been through, … we know if you’re a union official, those laws don’t apply to you.
“I’m sorry but that’s double standards.”
