Peter Dutton says ‘we should be very proud’

Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton is in Gallipoli for the Anzac Day Dawn Service.

He tells Ray Hadley the spirit is strong, with many young Australians making the pilgrimage this year.

“The numbers seem to be bigger this year than they were last year which is a great sign.”

Representing Australian government, the Home Affairs Minister will give a speech at the service.

“Just to walk on that soil to deliver a speech this morning I think is just the greatest honour.

“I think we should be very proud of what [the Anzacs] embodied and sacrificed, and ultimately many of them lost their lives for.

“We should double down our efforts to make sure that we live to the standard that they set.”
