NRL boss Peter V’landys has been dealt an expensive blow in court today, despite the judge agreeing he was treated ‘shabbily’ by the ABC.

Peter V’landys’ appeal against a defamation lawsuit loss has been knocked back by the Federal Court today.

It follows Mr Vlandy’s failed defamation lawsuit against the ABC for a 7.30 Report that aired in October 2019 exposing inhumane killing of retired racehorses and painted Mr Vlandys’ in a negative light.

However, Justice Steven Rares did say Mr Vlandys was treated “shabbily” in the ABC program.

Neil Breen said on Brisbane Live it was “very poor reporting” on behalf of the 7.30 report.
