‘Plagued with enormous difficulties’: New safety woes emerge over Taipan helicopter
Greens NSW Senator David Shoebridge, who received a private briefing on the MRH-90 Taipan helicopter, has raised several safety concerns regarding the chopper.
Four missing military personnel are now presumed dead after their MRH-90 Taipan crashed off the coast of Queensland on Friday night.
While the cause of the crash remains unknown, it has been revealed that there were multiple safety concerns related to the MRH-90 Taipan helicopter series.
Shoebridge was given a private briefing back in June, and at the time, he acknowledged there were questions about the chopper’s safety.
“It’s a helicopter plagued with enormous difficulties since it was entered into Australian service,” he told Ray Hadley.
