PM goes bush: Scott Morrison visits drought and flood-ravaged farmers
The Prime Minister says establishing the National Water Grid is one of the big challenges facing his newly returned government.
Scott Morrison is in Queensland to meet farmers still reeling from floods earlier this year.
In the lead up to the election, Nationals leader Michael McCormack promised a returned coalition would set up the National Water Grid.
Mr Morrison tells Alan Jones, they will provide water supply certainty, through dams and other water infrastructure.
“That’s the program we’ve got and that’s going to involve building more dams of course.
“And the program is running all around the country, that’s what Michael [McCormack] heads up.
“We’ve already got one of the biggest… one of those is already underway up this way at Hughenden, that process has already begun.”
