Courageous or crazy Sunshine Coast firefighter and father of 2, Patrick Shanahan is taking on the ultimate marathon challenge.

He explains his emotive reason for taking on Bravehearts 777 Marathon challenge: running 7 marathons, in 7 days, in 7 states.

He finished his first run today in Perth, and is already off to do his next 42km.
