Aussie investors close to building ZERO waste nuclear reactor

Australian-backed Type One Energy has struck a series of agreements to build a nuclear fusion facility in the US, a development that moves the much heralded technology closer to reality.

Most nuclear reactors used overseas generate electricity through a fission reaction, where an atom gets split, resulting in nuclear waste.

Contrastingly, nuclear fusion reactors generate power through two hydrogen atoms combining to make helium, much like the sun and the stars.

Luke Grant chats with the CEO of Type One Energy to find out where the development of the technology is at and whether or not Peter Dutton will be able to use it as part of his nuclear plan.
