Australia’s first orbital rocket waiting for lift-off in Queensland

Queensland’s Gilmour Space Technologies is set to launch Australia’s first sovereign orbital rocket into space.

However, the company is waiting on the federal government before the Eris Block 1 rocket can lift off.

Head of Mission Management at Gilmour Space Technologies Matthew Congedi told Shane Doherty on Summer Drive, “We’re just dotting our I’s and crossing our T’s to make sure that when we seek to have our first attempt at launching the launch vehicle, that everything’s in place.

“We’re going to get as far as we possibly can. And really the principal mission for us for this first test flight is collecting data,” Mr Congedi continued.
