Barrett thrilled with Gus’ arrival at Belmore

Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs Coach Trent Barrett caught up with The Continuous Call Team from the NRL Bubble to discuss the signing of Phil Gould.

The signing of former Bulldogs coach and player is crucial for the side allowing Barrett to focus on his main role rather than worrying about the development program.

Having Gus at the Club will take the pressure off Barrett and let him concentrate on coaching a new look side in 2022.

The Bulldogs will be looking to improve their form next year after recruiting big names including Tevita Pangai Junior to the Club.

Barrett is confident that there’s a “good crop of young kids at Belmore, but we need good senior players around them” to take the side to the next level.

From all reports the Bubble is going well for Barrett and his squad.

He says that the players are washing their own clothes and cleaning their rooms which has been interesting because no staff have been allowed into the Mercure Hotel complex during the lockdown.
