Sal Powell has just completed her fifth and final ultramarathon, claiming the title of the first Australian ever to run all five “Racing the Planet” desert ultramarathons – the Grand Slam Plus!

In an incredible achievement, the Brisbane mum has completed five ultramarathons in five deserts, equating to over 1,000kms  in just one year.

Sal Powell told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “It’s a sense of relief in one way that it’s over, but there’s a lot of mixed emotions. It was fabulous; difficult, and here I am, done.”
