Unlike the U.S., Australian employees have the right to ignore work-related contact outside work hours. Recently, Musk emailed millions of U.S. federal employees, demanding weekly progress reports and warning non-responders would be considered resigned. The move sparked backlash, with the State Department intervening and unions threatening legal action.

Musk later claimed many had responded and deserved promotions. With his team firing thousands of government employees under Trump, could a similar scenario unfold in Australia with a change in government?
