The beleaguered Eagle Farm race track is finally in the home straight and in sight of the finishing post for a long overdue return to racing.

The problems with the racing surface look to have been sorted out after 13 horses tested the track under gallops for the first time.

Racing Queensland CEO Brendan Parnell tells Mark barrier trials will be held next week and if all goes well there may be an early Christmas present for punters.
