Energex warns of extended power outages for tens of thousands of SEQ residents

There are currently tens of thousands of South-East Queensland residents without power at the moment with most of the outages on the Gold Coast so far.

Energex Spokesperson Danny Donald told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “If you’ve got no power now, just be aware that you may not have power until well after the cyclone passes.”

“When the emergency services and the professionals say it’s too dangerous, we take heed and take note.”

You wouldn’t want your employer to put you at risk while you work particularly out for life-threatening risks, so we’re not going to be doing it,” Danny Donald said.
