‘Enough is enough’: 50,000 Queenslanders sign petition to Make DV a Crime

Queensland is at the forefront of evolving police strategies for dealing with domestic violence, with the ‘Make DV a Crime’ petition led by the Queensland Police Union playing a crucial role in this progress.

Queensland Police Union President Shane Prior told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “We started this petition on the 13th of February, closed on Friday and Queenslanders have spoken.”

“50,000 Queenslanders have said enough is enough.”

“If you review e-petitions in the past, that will be amongst some of the best that this state has ever had, but it demonstrates that Queenslanders have had enough of the current state of domestic violence in this state and something needs to be done and that’s what we’re going to be doing,” Mr. Prior said.
