EXCLUSIVE: Crisafulli Government to re-establish Bruce Highway Advisory Council

The Crisafulli Government is set to reinstate the Bruce Highway Advisory Council by the end of this year in its bid to provide a long-term plan for the road.

The Transport Minister Brent Micklberg told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, ‘this will be a promise made and a promise kept.’

Micklberg went on to say the advisory council will be led by Queenslanders rather than government bureaucrats.

He said, ‘We want to see is people from a broad cross-section of our communities right up and down the coast.

The Bruce obviously needs a considerable amount of work, but we’re going to need to prioritise those areas that are going to have the greatest bang for our buck.’

Micklberg also mentioned that he will continue to push for 80-20 funding from the Federal Government.
