Facial Recognition in Pubs: Protection or Privacy Invasion?

Mike is joined by David Vaile, former Chair of the Australian Privacy Foundation, to discuss the privacy concerns surrounding the rollout of facial recognition technology in pubs and clubs.

Under the new system, facial recognition cameras will be installed in every venue, allowing families and friends to identify individuals they believe are struggling with gambling.

While proponents argue this measure will help address problem gambling, privacy advocates raise concerns about surveillance, data security, and potential misuse.
