Fair Work Ombudsman investigating aged care providers in Queensland

The Fair Work Ombudsman is investigating aged care providers in five states to ensure staff receive the correct pay and entitlements.

The regulator has visited 20 organisations across Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia.

Fair Work Ombudsman Anna Booth told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, “We’ve broken them down to residential aged care home care provider sites and digital platforms.

That’s sort of part of the reason why, because the workforce in the residential sector is actually declining, and the workforce in the digital providers and home care sector is increasing.”

“And with that comes extra risk of underpayment,” Ms Booth continued.
