Faulty Paris Olympic medals replaced after over 100 athletes complaints
Complaints have been made to the International Olympic Committee regarding the quality of the medals handed out at the Paris Olympics.
The New York Times investigated the issues with the Olympic medals, prompting officials to apologise and replace those in poor condition.
Owner of Epic Medals, Sally Jarvis told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, “It’s the coating that goes over the top of them and the compounds that are within the medals.”
“The coating can react to different things, whether it’s sweat from your hands or chlorine or just the metal compounds themselves, and it can disintegrate,” Ms Jarvis continued.
