‘Few bad apples’: Taxi Council blaming state government for ‘rogue’ cab drivers
The problems within the taxi and uber industries have been brought back into the spotlight following some events over the weekend.
Taxi Council of Queensland CEO Blair Davies told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “They think that they’re making some easy money, but there’s a $3,000 fine that can be issued to them.”
“What we need is we need more compliance officers out of the state government to get out there and catch these folk.”
“The drivers are unsupervised because they’re working for themselves.”
“There’s only so much that a cab company can do without strong support from state government compliance officers,” Mr. Davies said.
