Fewer demerit points and dobbing in bad drivers: How can we reduce Queensland’s road death toll?
Queensland is on track to surpass 300 road deaths this year, which would represent a significant increase compared to last year.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Janelle Andrews, from the Road Policing and Regional Support Command, told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, “Many people are driving as they live.”
“They drive distracted, they drive angry or frustrated, they drive worried, they drive fast, they drive after they drink alcohol and take drugs, and they drive without having any regard for themselves, or other road users,” Ms Andrews said.
