FULL SHOW: 4BC Weekend Breakfast with Olympia Kwitowski, Saturday 7th September 2024

Olympia Kwitowski

On the show today: Olympia covers the day’s headlines and the recently announced name options for Brisbane’s first new train station in 120 years.
Gardening is back for another week, and sees Arno King and Olympia discuss how spring isn’t always the easiest time to plant! Arno provides some tips for what to do if we have a dry period this spring and suggests being mindful of using pesticides during the hotter days. Arno also answers your questions about citrus tree leaves and promoting Bougainvillea growth.
PLUS Arno introduces his plant of the week: Walking iris or Trimezia (Neomarica) gracilis. A tough plant that is due to flower over the next 3-4 weeks and can be a real asset for the rest of the year.

In the second hour; we get a hit of Paralympics news courtesy of 4BC News Reporter Richard French and we hear your feedback on the topics of the day.
Olympia also chats with Destash Market organiser Leesa Simpson. The growth of decluttering our homes and rediscovering the art of sewing and love of textiles has developed a unique and exciting subculture within the circular economy – saving thousands of kilos of fabric from landfill. Leesa tells us more about today’s Mount Gravatt event for those curious about crafting and quilting.
PLUS: We hear from Andrew South of First National By The Bay for a weekly real estate update.
