FULL SHOW: 4BC Weekend Breakfast with Olympia Kwitowski, Sunday 21st July 2024

Olympia Kwitowski

On the show today: Gardening Hour with Arno King continues for another day. Today, Arno discusses veggie gardens and his recommendations for where to start if you’re thinking of growing your own veggies. Arno also answers your questions about Choko recipes, dealing with a root bound Aloe plant, and if yellow leaves on a Bougainvillea is a sign of disease in the plant.
PLUS Arno’s second plant of the week: the Curculigo or palm grass – one that grows well under trees and is generally quite tough.

In the second hour, Olympia talks about a recent social media trend that sees young kids dressing up as grandmas and grandpas with wrinkles and lines painted on their face, posing with walking sticks, walking frames and more. Olympia shares how retailers are now also clocking on to this trend and shares her own thoughts about it.
Olympia also chats with Scenic Rim food ambassador Brenda Fawdon. After a recent report by CreditorWatch has revealed that nearly one in 10 cafes, coffee shops and restaurants are tipped to go under in the next 12 months; Brenda shares her thoughts on why this is happening and tells us more about her work as a chef, author and food educator.
PLUS another edition of Olympia’s Food Olympics! ‘Beach – Restaurant & Kiosk’’ pastry chef Katrina Kanetani calls in to tell us more about the Byron Bay restaurant which showcases local, seasonal produce from the NSW Northern Rivers region and surrounds.
