‘Golden opportunity’: Tourism ‘bed tax’ could set QLD up for success ahead of 2032

The suggestion to impose a ‘bed tax’ on tourism to Queensland holiday destinations has received mixed reviews.

Queensland Tourism Industry Council CEO, Natassia Wheeler told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, “Theres so much work and discussion that needs to take place on this topic to determine how we fund tourism and what mechanism we fund this through.”

“We cant just say this is going to be the mechanism, we need to bring everybody together to determine where we need to get to, how we get there, and who collects them.
