Government needs to justify public servant increase
The Palaszczuk Government has defended the growth in senior public servants claiming the increase was due to hiring frontline health workers including doctors. Â
According to Public Service Workforce Data, in three years, the number of top level bureaucrats went from nearly 14,000 to 18,000; a 30 per cent increase.
Senior servants are those earning around $150,000 a year.
Queensland Opposition Leader, Deb Frecklington says the Labor government need to justify this increase.
