‘Have to prioritise’: Sunshine Coast Council under scrutiny for fireworks fiasco

The Sunshine Coast Council has come under some scrutiny for cancelling its midnight fireworks display.

The Council has said safety concerns, crime and costs are the reasons for their decision.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, ‘it was a resolution of Council, so it is a full Council decision.’

‘I can’t just turn around and with the swipe of a pen overturn that. And I am standing up and saying, this is not something I personally am happy about and let’s see if we can find a way forward,’ she said.
