There’s concern a program, designed to address labour shortages, is causing more headaches for small businesses.

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme is in full swing – allowing farmers to hire seasonal or long-term workers from nine different countries.

Rural editor Sophie Clarke caught up with National Farmers Federation chief executive Tony Mahar to hear his concerns.

He’s calling on the Commonwealth to ensure the program works for the whole ag sector.
